Weather is an interesting part of life. Snowfall is used in YDKJ as a symbol of cleansing. As I look out the window this morning at the newest white "gift" I'm thinking that I'm a little tired of snow.
Living rurally as we do, we are responsible for snow removal and/or storage. Right now the berms on the side are so high that it's nearly impossible for my plow to throw it up and over. That either means that we have enough snow or we're going to have to bring in some heavy equipment.
Interestingly, all the parents who live nearby manage to help their children make it to school, work, sports, and church. They just rachet up their responsibility quotient and get the job done.
It's nice to be associated with people who take their responsibilities so seriously.
"You Don't Know Jack" is a manuscript detailing a rural community's efforts to offer quality foster care. The author, a 20-year foster parent, details the members of the community and the challenges they face. Drug usage is the catalyst and not everyone makes it through to the end.

- For starters, I have a wicked sense of humor that often gets me in trouble. My husband (of over 30 years) and I are parents of a large family, ten of whom are "special needs" adoptions. We love the chaos that comes with that many individuals and the ensuing relationships. I am an oldest child and therefore quite bossy. Too bad for me, my siblings never listen to my wisdom. Becoming a Grandmother has been my latest Great Joy in life. I admire cats and their approach to life.

Better bring in the heavy equipment. It looks like we're in for more snow. Just think of how beautiful your mountainside will be in the spring. Oh wait -- it's always beautiful.
